Hook: Mustad 3906B (or equivalent), size 10-16

Thread: To match body

Tail: Wood duck/mallard flank fibers

Abdomen: Australian opossum or hares ear

Rib: Copper wire

Legs: Same as tail

Thorax: Same as abdomen

Notes:

The legs are tied "in the round" or in a full wrap style. This fly works well weighted or fished in the surface film. If used as a caddis imitation antron can be used in the tail imitate a trailing shuck. -Mike

There is an additional recipe and pic in "Flies for Trout" by Dick Stewart and Farrow Allen where the legs are described as being "...tied in several sparse bunches on top and on each side." Stewart/Allen also list the abdomen being "...Tannish-olive blended natural and synthetic fur, picked out"...the only difference of any notable significance, though I have found the Australian opossum to be most effective. -Joel S.
