Notes:
You will need a foam body cutter. You may get them from some local shop's or Dan Bailey carries them. But it sure makes it easy.
After cutting the body and having the hook in the vise. Wrap the hook with thread then tie in the eyes. Leave room at the head of the hook so the foam can be pulled over the eyes and tied down. You want to tie the foam in about an 8th of an inch up from the narrow part of the tail. After tying the foam on dub about 1/3 of the hook between the eyes and were you tied in the foam. Next you tie in the wings making sure that they point to the rear slightly. After tying in the wings dub over were you tied them in up to the eyes. Pull the foam over the wings and tie down just behind the eyes. Next you dub around the eyes and then pull the foam over the eyes and tie off. Leave the wings a little long and cut both at the same time by pulling them up over the fly and cutting. They should be about 2/3 the length of the tail. Lacquer the head and the two places were you tied in the foam and you are done. I have found this to be a very good fly. We use to cut them out by hand until they started making these cutters. I buy the blue foam sheets at a hobby store. You can get about 180 bodies out of a sheet. Good Tying -Ron
